Ten years have passed since The Shake were born in Almería (home of the spaghetti western) and it′s been a long way until the release of this new album so it′s a great pleasure for us, here at Sunny Day Rds. to announce the comeback of Miguel Ángel Calabuig & co.

Deeply in love with beat, garage, pop and psychedelia from the 60′s and subsequent decades, The Shake have always stood a step ahead of the rest of bands in the 60′s scene due to their never-ending talent to create beautifully crafted songs that go farther than the basic structures and guitar riffs, as well as their unique, neat, hipnotic sound.

With their debut lp “Tripping The Whole Colourful World” (Rainbow Quartz/Flor & Nata 2006), critics and fans on both sides of the Atlantic agreed on praising their virtues. That record amazed all those who listened to it and took them to the most important 60′s meetings in Spain, Purple Weekend, Go! Lleida, Festimod.... as well as to the International Pop Overthrow in Liverpool, where they could perform at the Cavern Club.

Later they published their first 45 (Hey Girl! Rds 2008) showing us their dirtiest and wildest side, close to garage-punk.

Now they are back full of energy (see them live and you′ll wet your underpants!) with new exciting recordings where British-flavoured pop, garage & psyche are seasoned with black music influences... A cocktail for select tastes.

Han pasado ya ocho años desde el nacimiento de The Shake en Almería, muchos han sido los cambios desde entonces y largo ha sido el camino hasta la edición de éste su segundo lp, por lo que resulta un enorme placer para Sunny Day Records anunciar la vuelta de Miguel Ángel Calabuig y compañía.

Enamorados del beat, el garage, el pop y la psicodelia de los 60 y décadas posteriores, The Shake han conseguido desde sus comienzos destacarse del pelotón de bandas 60′s tanto por el inagotable talento de Miguel Ángel Calabuig para construir canciones más allá de los típicos riffs básicos como por la particularidad de su sonido, tan pulcro como hipnótico, único hoy en día.

Con su debut, “Tripping The Whole Colourful World”, (Rainbow Quartz/Flor & Nata 2006) pusieron de acuerdo hace unos años a críticos y fans de ambos lados del Atlántico para alabar sus virtudes. Su disco maravilló a todo aquel que lo escuchó y les llevó a pisar los escenarios de los festivales 60′s más importantes del país como el Purple Weekend, Go! Lleida o Festimod así como al Interntational Pop Overthrow de Liverpool donde pudieron subirse a las tablas del Cavern Club.
Después llegó su primera aparición en formato 7” de la mano del sello madrileño Hey Girl! que les mostró más sucios y garageros que nunca.

Ahora regresan en un estado de forma envidiable, con diez temas nuevos de composición propia, donde el beat, el garaje y la psicodelia de aromas británicos se aderezan con nuevas influencias de música negra obteniendo como resultado un disco elegante, con clase y brillantez, adictivo desde la primera escucha… un cocktail para paladares exquisitos.
